I have been taking the pills for 2 weeks before my doctor says to stop taking the medication, and it has increased the blood pressure.

The United States Food and Drug Administration has approved a drug to prevent heartburn. The drug, Nexium, is the first to do so. The drug is the first of a new class of antacids known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).

In a report published last month in the journal Gastroenterology, the FDA says the drug will be available in pharmacies starting July 24.
